During three weeks in March we explored the three largest islands Hokkaido, Kyushu and Honshu in Japan. There were many memorable experiences such as travelling with the shinkansen train, city life in Tokyo and of course some nice Japanese birds. One of the highlights was the boat trip to the drift ice outside Rausu with hundreds of Stellar’s Sea Eagles. We were also very happy that we managed to see the cherry blossoms before we went home.
